Sichuan Industrial Institute of Antibiotics Co. Ltd. (SIIA Co.Ltd.) is one of the key institutions dedicated to the research and development of pharmaceutics in China. She has a long existence of 40 years. SIIA formerly is a research institute under the directorship of the State Food and Drug Administration of China. In December 2000,wholly integrated to become the subsidiary unit of Sinopharm (Group) General Co. Ltd.; in July 2004, after realignment, SIIA becomes a pharmaceutical R/D center of Sinopharm (Group) Co. Ltd. SIIA has diverse fields of disciplines and full of strength and capability in scientific research, while lays equal stress on research and development, and highlights with her product industrialization capability. SIIA Co. Ltd. staffed with 346 personnel, of whom 53% are technical staff, among them 11% are senior researchers; 30% associate researchers and more than 30 experts have received the government special subsidy for their excellent achievements. Up to the present, she has attained more than hundred scientific achievements, and has a close relationship in research collaborative works with more than 200 institutions in domestic and foreign countries.
